13th Annual Gathering of Friends

It’s time once again to get ready for the 13th annual Gathering of Friends at Ginew School in Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation.

While most of the attendees are students from neighbouring schools, the event is open to anyone! If you are interested in learning and participating more in First Nations cultural activities, set aside May 15th, 2015 to do just that. Activities take place at the school all day (from 9am – 3pm) including, sweat lodge teachings, residential school history, dancer performances in regalia, traditional cooking and more. There will also be a canteen open with food and refreshments. The Gathering of Friends is a unique opportunity to celebrate the values, culture and history of Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation.
“Every year we come together as friends to value each other’s stories and knowledge of our greatest treasure, our culture and traditions.”
