Classroom Libraries Update

A couple of months ago, we posted about the Classroom Libraries our Literacy Specialists were building for 29 of our First Nations Schools.

You can find that post here.

Well, the results are now in and the schools, teachers and students are loving their new libraries!

Books, books, books

The goal of the Project was to provide high-quality reading materials in a range of genres for students in Kindergarten to Grade 4. In total, 206 classrooms were provided with books, and many schools established special book rooms for the storing and sharing of materials.

But it doesn’t end there! Our Literacy specialists continue to work with the schools and teachers, demonstrating how the materials can be used in order to maximize literacy outcomes for all students.
