Hot off the Press

MFNERC is excited to announce the publication of anĀ Oral History Project for Grade 12. Created by Olga McIvor, (Acting) Research and Development Program Manager.

IMG_2490“Oral history allows people to share their stories in their own words, with their own voices, through their own understanding of what happened and why.”

This project is a school initiated course and community project developed for grade 12 students. Through the project, students interview Elders about their life history, and record these experiences. Everything from developing interview questions to using recording equipment is covered in the project, and upon completion, students obtain a high school credit. They also benefit from having spoken at length with their Elders.
