An Elders Treaty DVD series was created by our video production department, and is available through MFNERC’s online shop.
MFNERC produced a series of videos in which Elders from four Manitoba First Nations recall their ancestors’ stories of the treaty signing. Each Elder speaks their traditional language as they share their people’s understanding of what the treaties mean to their community and what terms were thought to be agreed upon at the signing.
This series includes:
Elder Elijah Mayham – Split Lake
Elder Gideon McKay – Cross Lake
Elder Victor Courchene – Sagkeeng
Elder Betsy “Granny” Anderson – Sayisi Dene
