MFNERC is excited to announce its contribution to the Sergeant Tommy Prince Memorial Restoration Fund.

Ralph Arthurson spreading the word about Sgt. Tommy Prince

Located in Winnipeg at Battery Street and Selkirk Avenue, the Sgt. Tommy Prince Memorial has seen its share of ups and downs. Sadly, it has been vandalized numerous times, and is in need of much repair before a planned re-dedication in July, 2013.

Throughout the Lighting the Fire Education Conference last week, donations were taken for the restoration. And now MFNERC is happy to announce it has made a contribution of $573.60 to the fund. ($508.60 was raised at the Conference, plus $65.00 in other private donations.) This donation was made to the Manitoba Indigenous Cultural Education Centre, who is helping the current Memorial caretaker with the restoration.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this very worthy cause.
