On June 10 & 11 2015, Keeseekoowenin School hosted their annual Language and Hertige Days outdoors at the beautiful Clear Lake Little Spruces Camp.
The children from the elementary school enjoyed activities for Heritage Day including: bannock making , meat drying, fish fry, crafts, tipi teachings and a fun game called “Predator and Prey” with a representative from Riding Mountain National Park. On Language Day, all the activities were in Ojibway. They included: sing-a-long, quest for fire, bingo, time capsule, animal game, red willow crafts and a scavenger hunt.
The second day ended with a mini pow-wow and a demonstration of hoop dancing. Many members of the community came out and enjoyed the events. A great time was had by all!
