MFNERC welcomes new departmental lead, Lorna Prince.

MFNERC is pleased to welcome our newest departmental lead, Lorna Prince. She will be joining the Department of Inclusive Education Services on January 25, 2021 as the Director of Inclusive Education Services.

Lorna is a member of Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation. She was raised in her home community for the early part of her life, where she acquired Ojibway as her primary language. She obtained her Bachelor of Education Degree at Brandon University and has obtained a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Special Education and a Masters of Education at the University of Manitoba. Lorna has been working in First Nations education systems since 1997. She has worked in various capacities including Principal, Student Services Coordinator, Resource Teacher, Classroom Teacher and Instructional Coach. She has also worked with various First Nations communities across the province. She joins us from the Manitoba First Nations School System where she was the Student Support Services Program Coordinator. Lorna brings her passion for supporting our communities to the department.
