DVD Video

Categories: ,

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum of Disorders is a term used to represent a broad range of neurological and physical symptoms which can result from prenatal exposure to alcohol. This interactive video has been developed to provide assistance to educators, parents and students to better understand ways to prevent this disorder and how to identify and support those who may be affected. This video is intended to promote healing within families and communities.

This resource is divided into six sections including “Russ Hilsher’s Story”, a 10-minute video about Russ’ life story of living with FASD. The second section includes an interactive exercise with Russ about what supports and accommodations enable his success. The third section highlights strategies for success that can be used in school, at home and in the community. This resource also includes a series of questions that are meant to stimulate conversation for community-based initiatives to address FASD.

This resource can be used in sections or all together. We recommend taking the time to view all six sections and then identify how you might use this resource in the different roles you have in your community.
