The Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre (MFNERC) is excited to announce the rollout of PowerSchool SIS, a modern, flexible, and user-friendly student information system that will replace the legacy Dadavan Outcomes system starting in the upcoming academic year.

PowerSchool is one of the leading K–12 SIS platforms in North America, trusted by thousands of schools for its robust features, seamless integration, and data-driven insights.

What is PowerSchool SIS?

PowerSchool SIS is a centralized, cloud-based platform designed to manage student data, attendance, enrollment, grading, reporting, and more—all in one place. It empowers educators, administrators, and communities to make informed decisions with real-time data access.

What This Means for Schools

• MFNSS schools will transition from Dadavan to PowerSchool starting July 1, 2025.
• All student records for the new academic year will be entered into PowerSchool.
• Historical records from Dadavan will not be migrated; schools must download and securely store any needed data before June 30, 2025.

Implementation Timeline

• May & June 2025: Final preparations, training, and data archiving
• July 2025: PowerSchool SIS goes live for all schools

Important Note on Data Security
PowerSchool recently issued a public notice about a data breach that affected a limited number of Canadian customers. We want to reassure our schools that no MFNSS or MFNEDU school data was impacted by this incident. PowerSchool continues to work closely with security experts and has taken steps to further enhance protections.
