Summer Days are Coming

The end of another school year is upon us. And many of our First Nations schools are celebrating with fun activities and events.

Last week, St. Theresa Point schools held a fish fry. Community members were invited, and students were responsible for preparing and cooking the fish and bannock…with some help from the Elders. Then it was time for Indian Baseball. Students also had a chance to learn about fire safety and try their hand at the fire hose. Check out more photos on our Facebook page.

Over at Wasagamack First Nation, George Knott School students participated in a treaty re-enactment. Costumes and props helped the students get into character, and the audience greatly enjoyed their presentation. Check out more photos on our Facebook page.
