TthaNárɛltth’ɛr was a brave young woman who managed to save herself from slavery, become an interpreter in York Factory, and finally make peace between the Dene and Cree Peoples. Every year, on February 5, we honour TthaNárɛltth’ɛr by wearing red, braiding hair, feasting, and singing songs of her story. TthaNárɛltth’ɛr is a Dene hero who inspires strength and courage to this day.
