We Are Looking for Writers

MFNERC’s Research & Development department is seeking writers and contributors of all ages for three upcoming projects.

1. Grassroots Elders & Role Models

wellingtonA series of posters for First Nations schools that will highlight the lives and careers of First Nations community members who have contributed to the pursuit of Mino-Pimatiziwin/A Good Life.
Nominate Elders and knowledge-keepers who have encouraged the pursuit of a Good Life through their own life story and experiences; and/or, nominate role models who have achieved significant milestones in their lives toward building a strong and healthy community

 2. Voices of Our Future

img_1472A new children’s anthology that will host the writings, artwork and photography of K-12 First Nations students. The theme is open and invites students to be creative in the delivery of their literary and artistic work.
Teachers and/or parents may submit on behalf of their students and consent for all students will be required from parents.

3. First Nations Perspectives
img_2859The journal of the Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre is accepting submissions for the 2017 edition. The Journal invites scholarly essays and research papers from teachers, researchers, scholars, university students and those affiliated with the field of First Nations education. In order to create a broad dialogue, manuscripts from other fields that are relevant to First Nations education will be considered.
