IMPACT: Colonialism in Canada

Call for submissions for a new anthology. Have your work published and be paid!

The Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre’s publishing unit is now accepting submissions for a new anthology entitled Impact: Colonialism in Canada, to be published in 2017. The anthology will feature works from emerging and established Indigenous-Canadian writers, and will focus on the effects of colonialism in Canada from a historical or contemporary perspective.

We are looking for pieces in the areas of historical or contemporary fiction, creative, non-fiction, essay, or poetry. Your work must address the anthology’s theme from an Indigenous perspective in compelling ways and will be assessed based on artistic and educational merit.

Word length: 3,000 words and under per piece for fiction, non-fiction, or essay. Two to three pieces for poetry with a submission maximum of five.

Payment: 5¢/word for fiction, non-fiction, or essay and $50 per published poem.
